On reading real Japanese
Furigana for real news and books. I found this looking for a reader app with furigana and it works well. took me a moment to get used to the interface but the developer is really helpful and actively adding features. Has aozora books and other included materials, and various import methods.
Awesome app for practicing Japanese reading daily
This app is seriously underrated! It helped me immensely with kanji, grammar, particles, definition, etc.
Great app for reading and learning japanese
On the dictionary
It is a great tool. Bare with the ads and I think it is as useful as the dictionary
On support and fixes
Great customer service! They truly listen to suggestions and fix issues right away. Amazing app for learning the language faster!!
Most of the annoying bugs were fixed after my feedback super fast, thanks a lot! There are still some minor issues, such as duplicate translations in the word cards for some words such as 指差し, but they are not critical. So I can say that this app is now almost a perfect Japanese text reader.
What reviewers asked for, and what changed
- Correct readings for names (Sudaru J., 4 stars, August 2026, about the reading given for the historical name 上杉房定). Version 0.31.1 fixed hundreds of readings, including well-known people's names, and now marks names the dictionary does not list as a best guess so you know to check them; see the YoMoo updates.
- Fewer ads (Amir H., August 2026: "Bare with the ads"). Since 0.31.1 your own text, Aozora Bunko books and the sample no longer use up a free article, and the optional ad-free subscription removes the ads and the article limit.
