FluencyTool
FluencyTool updates
What changed in each version of the Japanese speaking practice app, newest first. A version is listed once it is live on Google Play and the App Store.
How the dates work. The iPhone date is the release date in the App Store version history. The Android date is the first day Google Play's install reports show the build reaching learners. Android builds often arrive a few days earlier, and on iPhone several Android builds can arrive together in one version. The web app at my-senpai.com/app/rnfluencytool/ is updated separately and does not include the Kanji Tower.

Version 3.0.109: Kanji Tower reviews and fewer false misses
iPhone: 29 October 2026 (also brings 3.0.105 to 3.0.108) · Android: late October 2026
- Kanji Tower: a new Reviews due button shows how many kanji are ready and runs them in one go; tap a floor to review only its kanji.
- Kanji Tower: remove a floor you opened by mistake, with its progress and review cards; jumping far above your current floor now asks first.
- Writing: an accidental touch no longer counts as a stroke, small strokes drawn small are no longer failed, and a new kanji starts with tracing.
- A floor test opens with a short intro that says what is in it, and backwards strokes now say which way to draw.
- Flashcards: the ready-made JLPT decks teach useful everyday words first, and their levels now match YoMoo and Crossword.
Version 3.0.108: vocabulary games rebuilt
Included in 3.0.109 on Android and iPhone
- Hangman and Fever Pitch run on one rebuilt round engine, with a best score per deck.
- Game progress is kept in the app's own storage, so it survives an app restart.
- Large text sizes keep the buttons whole and the Next button in view.
Version 3.0.107: Recording screen fixes
Android: 26 October 2026 · iPhone: in 3.0.109
- The banner ad now sits above the navigation bar on the Recording screen.
- Echo Fluency switches itself off when the phone is missing the speech model for the language.
Version 3.0.106: furigana fixes in the Tower
Android: in 3.0.107 · iPhone: in 3.0.109
- Fixed wrong furigana in Kanji Tower sentences, including 何時, 七月, 丸い, 小麦粉 and 私.
- Stroke-order animations play faster.
Version 3.0.105: Kanji Tower out of beta
Android: in 3.0.107 · iPhone: in 3.0.109
- A ? button explains how the Tower works, and each writing card has its own ? that lists every control.
- The meaning pill now sits above the writing box and shows the kanji's reading.
- Stats: a new Kanji proficiency chart shows your Tower progress for each school grade, 1 to 6.
- The Beta label is gone.
